A CASE OF AMELOBLASTIC FIBRO-ODONTOMA

Abstract

|
The term ameloblastic fibro-odontoma was first introduced in 1967 by Hooker, based on histopathologic loatures. This entity is a rare odontogenic neoplasm that consists of the proliferation of an ameloblastic fibroma and odontoma, and has been repoted as a slowly expansile central neoplasm of jaws. Pain or p tresthesia is uncommon, and the only initial symptom rr ay be progressive facial saymmetry or the failure of pi !rmament teeth to erupt. We have experienced one c~ise of ameloblastic fibro-odontoma on the symphyseal ai ea of mandible in a 9 years old male, with brief review of the concerned literatures.
